Would you take a look at this beauty?! Have you ever seen such a gleaming specimen? I have been having a heck of a time getting out those stubborn hardwater (and other) stains and was getting tired of looking at them. I have tried the pumice stone and found that it was just scratching the porcelain. I mentioned this problem to a friend of mine and she suggested I try Drywall sanding screen. "What is that?" you may ask. Well, I don't know, but I tell you what, it sure did a number on those stains! They came off so easily, cleaning the toilet today was {dare I say} almost FUN!! So come my little friends, I have two more to do! YEA!!!!
Couple things---I had a clever little "Happy Working Song" playing while you read my toilet blog and the playlist is having trouble with it for some reason. That is where the "come my little friends" reference is from. It is as though I am inviting friendly rats, pigeons, and cockroaches to help me out like Giselle! So much for my attempts to be cool. Also, just in case you want to try this sanding stuff out, make sure you use the 220 grit. I assume no liability for scratched toilets! Happy scrubbing!

I love the sparkling john! And the tune to go with it. I need that song to be on my daily soundtrack, maybe I would be motivated to scub my own toilets:) I am totally going to try the drywall screen.
we happen to have some of that in the garage. I never new what wonderful things it could do for toilets. I am excited to try it today. I am glad you got your house sold. Do you want me to start looking around Twin Falls for you, you know for when you move here!!(ok I am kidding, kind of). I love all the blogs about your cute kids.
THanks for the tip! I'll definitely have to try that one out. Oh, and I love that you included a picture of your clean toilet! haha... I'm both jealous and inspired.
I love that as I gazed upon your lovely twa-let...a happy little tune was playing right along. You couldn't have planned it better:) So have you broken the news that no one is allowed to use it now?
what a pretty pot! you are so ingenious! (sp?) also, love those kids and the bragging, they are so sweet, I miss you guys so much but I'm excited for the cabin this summer! YEEEAAh!
i'll save my toilets for next time you come, seeing as how you are thourouly enjoying cleaing them! you are too funny!
Emily! You are a life saver! I have tried the pumice with the same results as you. I have tried leaving vinegar in there for hours on end. I have tried scrubbing REALLY HARD for what feels like hours. I have tried several different products that probably would have blown the bathroom up if I mixed them together. Somebody told me about this stuff, but didn't know what it was other than a screen of some sort. Always wanted to figure it out. I WILL TRY THIS!!!! Thanks!
Totally worked! Thanks Emily!
Your toilet is BEAUTIFUL! I just showed Jason (who cleans the toilets at our house) and he said "try it out". hmmmmm.....
