I thought I would be clever and post things newest to oldest so that they would end up in the right order, but I messed up, so you get to see the after pics of our yard project first. Scroll down for the before pics.
Isn't this better? There is actually somewhere for the kids to play!
The kids call this the "Special way". They can run all the way around the tree with this special path. I think it will also make a nice place to play hide and seek. We left the iris' around the pomegranate tree because they looked so pretty and cheerful. The snails love them too.
The kids are really excited about the yard, and even though they can't play on the grass yet, the girls thought they would go out before church today and play barbies on the porch. It was a little chilly for them, but don't they look cute?
Thanks for looking. This has been my focus for the last couple of weeks. Now I can mop the floor. Goody.

I love your yard! The before and after pictures are amazing you guys did such a good job!
I am so excited to actually see what I have been trying to imagine your yard to look like! I can't wait to visit and take a stroll along "special way"
We moved into a new home a year ago and have been staring at the blank slate that is our backyard. Fortunately/unfortunately, Tom wants to do this yard himself, he is really picky, does a wonderful job . . . he just doesn't have much time. So, I just wait.
A blank slate would have been wonderful, but I do love the mature trees. Our old house had a perfect yard, small but perfect, so to come to this was really hard for me. I LOVE yard work, but this and being pregnant was too much.
It is so beautiful! I am amazed at how much work you did!
